Key takeaways
- This calculator compares Picasso Dental's published Vietnam prices, plus a realistic flight and hotel budget, against sourced average prices in the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand — for a single implant, All-on-4, veneers, zirconia crowns, root canals, whitening and full dentures.
- Every figure traces back to the same two documents used across this site's Vietnam dental-tourism pages: sourced home-country prices and travel costs, and Picasso Dental's own published per-unit pricing — no number here is invented or estimated on the fly.
- Vietnam-side treatment prices use Picasso's entry tier for each procedure (for example, Osstem implants rather than premium Straumann BLX), since that is a genuinely bookable starting price, not a marketing average — the full Vietnam Dental Price Index shows the complete tier ranges.
- The calculator adds a full round-trip flight estimate and a mid-range Ho Chi Minh City hotel budget to the Vietnam side, so the comparison is closer to an honest all-in cost than a bare treatment-price comparison.
- Currency conversions use the same five fixed rates as the rest of the funnel (VND ÷25,500 for USD, ÷16,800 AUD, ÷35,200 GBP, ÷18,650 CAD, ÷15,140 NZD); every result is an estimate for planning, not a quote.
Most dental-tourism savings claims stop at the treatment price: a crown costs this much at home, that much in Vietnam, therefore you save the difference. That comparison is real but incomplete — it leaves out the flight and the hotel, which is exactly the money that erodes a saving on a small job and barely dents a saving on a large one. This calculator does the fuller comparison: Picasso Dental's own published Vietnam price for a procedure, plus a return flight and hotel nights, set against a sourced home-country average for the same procedure. Every figure it uses is drawn from the same two source documents behind the rest of this site's Vietnam dental-tourism content — Picasso Dental's published pricing on the Vietnam side, and named public sources (dental association fee guides, multi-clinic surveys, airline and hotel data) on the home-country and travel side. If the whole idea is new to you, our primer on what dental tourism is and why it is booming covers the background this tool takes as read. The full citations for every underlying figure sit on our Vietnam Dental Price Index 2026, which this calculator's numbers are drawn directly from.
How the calculator works
Pick a procedure, how many units you need (teeth for a crown, veneer or implant; arches for All-on-4; leave it at one for a root canal, a whitening session or a full set of dentures), your home country, and how many nights you expect to spend in Vietnam. The tool then builds two totals. The "at home" total is simply the sourced home-country price for that procedure, multiplied by your units. The "Vietnam trip" total is Picasso Dental's published price for the same procedure and units, plus a return flight estimate for your home country, plus a hotel budget for the nights you entered, at a mid-range Ho Chi Minh City nightly rate. Because both the flight fare and the hotel rate are themselves ranges rather than single numbers, the Vietnam total comes out as a range too, and the estimated saving is shown as a range for the same reason — the low end of the saving assumes the more expensive flight and hotel scenario, the high end assumes the cheaper one.
Everything happens in US dollars behind the scenes, then gets converted to your selected country's currency for display, using the same fixed conversion rates used throughout this site's Vietnam dental-tourism pages. That keeps this calculator's numbers consistent with the Price Index, the country guides, and everything else in the funnel, rather than each page quietly using a slightly different exchange rate.
Worked example, before you touch the tool
Here is the calculator's own logic worked by hand, as a static example that does not depend on JavaScript running in your browser — useful if scripts are disabled, and a good way to sanity-check the interactive tool below once it loads. The scenario: a single implant including the crown, for a patient flying from the United States, staying seven nights in Vietnam.
| At home (US) | Vietnam trip (all-in) | |
|---|---|---|
| Treatment × 1 | US$4,550 | US$980 |
| Flights + 7 nights | — | US$1,146 – US$2,044 |
| Total | US$4,550 | US$2,126 – US$3,024 |
| Estimated saving | US$1,526 – US$2,424 | |
The "at home" figure is the midpoint of Delta Dental's typical US single-implant band (US$3,500–$5,600), the same baseline used in our country guide to dental tourism in Vietnam for American patients. The Vietnam treatment figure is Picasso Dental's entry-tier (Osstem) single implant price of 25,000,000 VND, converted at VND ÷ 25,500. The flight-plus-hotel range adds a US return fare of roughly US$761–$1,134 (the lower and upper figures sourced for US departures) to seven nights at a mid-range Ho Chi Minh City hotel rate of US$55–$130 a night. Swap in your own procedure, country and trip length in the interactive version below for a different result built the same way.

Methodology: how every number was chosen
The Vietnam-side treatment prices (the vnCost figures) are Picasso Dental's own published per-unit VND prices, converted to US dollars at the fixed rate VND ÷ 25,500, then displayed in your selected currency at the fixed rates used across this funnel (AUD ÷ 16,800 of the same VND figure, or equivalently USD × 1.518 for AUD, × 0.724 for GBP, × 1.367 for CAD, × 1.684 for NZD). Where Picasso publishes more than one tier for a procedure, the calculator uses the entry tier: Osstem for the single implant (25,000,000 VND) and All-on-4 (125,000,000 VND per arch), and Emax Press for the porcelain veneer (9,000,000 VND per tooth). For in-office whitening, the calculator uses the laser, one-jaw price (3,500,000 VND) rather than the full-mouth Zoom! session. Zirconia crowns (7,000,000 VND), molar root canals (5,000,000 VND) and complete hard-plastic dentures (8,000,000 VND) each have a single published Picasso price, so no tier choice applied.
The home-country prices (the homeCost figures) come from the sourced averages on the Vietnam Dental Price Index 2026, converted to US dollars by dividing the local-currency figure by that country's fixed rate. Where the underlying source gives a single figure — a median, an average, or one stated price — that figure is used directly: for example the UK's TreatCompare median of £2,500 for a single implant, set out in full in our guide to dental tourism in Vietnam for UK patients, or the US's Authority Dental average of $21,500 for All-on-4. Where the source gives only a range, the calculator uses the midpoint of the most representative band identified in the source research: for the US single implant, the midpoint of Delta Dental's "typical" $3,500–$5,600 band ($4,550), rather than the wider outer range of $2,800–$6,700; for Australia's single implant, the midpoint of the "realistic all-in" AU$6,000–$9,000 band (AU$7,500) rather than the narrower ADA component-only floor; for Canada's zirconia crown, the midpoint of the CA$800–$1,600 provincial market range rather than the Ontario Dental Association's minimum base-fee figure, since the market range better reflects what a patient is actually charged. Every one of these choices mirrors the framing already used on the Vietnam Dental Price Index and the country-specific guides, so the same procedure produces the same underlying figure everywhere on this site.
Flight ranges (flightUSD) are each country's sourced return economy airfare to Ho Chi Minh City, converted to US dollars the same way. For the US, the range spans the lowest widely cited fare (a general cheapest-month figure of roughly $761) to the highest (San Francisco's upper band of roughly $1,134). For the UK, the sourced London range of roughly £487–£1,181 is used. For Australia, Sydney's sourced range of roughly AU$430–$1,860 is used, since Sydney is the most consistently cited departure city. For Canada, the source research's own recommended "realistic full-service economy" band of roughly CA$1,000–$1,900 is used in place of the far wider and inconsistent raw quotes. For New Zealand, Auckland's sourced range of roughly NZ$823–$2,272 is used, since Auckland is effectively the only major New Zealand gateway for this route — the routing options are covered in our guide to dental tourism in Vietnam for New Zealand patients. The hotel range (hotelUSDPerNight, US$55–$130 a night) is the sourced Ho Chi Minh City mid-range band, applied to every country since the destination city, and therefore the hotel market, is the same regardless of where you fly from.
All of the underlying figures were checked and compiled on 20 July 2026, the same date used across the rest of this funnel's sourced content. Dental prices, flight fares, hotel rates and exchange rates all move over time and by season, so a result from this calculator today may not exactly match a result run in six months, and neither is a substitute for a current quote.
What this calculator cannot tell you
Treat every result as a planning estimate, not a promise. The home-country figures are averages or typical ranges, not what any specific dentist near you will charge for your specific case — your own quote could sit above or below the figure used here depending on your city, your dentist, and the exact materials involved. The Vietnam figures are Picasso Dental's own published entry-tier pricing, which is real and currently listed, but your actual treatment plan might call for a higher tier (a premium implant system, a different crown material) once a dentist has examined your case, in which case your real Vietnam price would be higher than the calculator shows. The flight and hotel figures are sourced ranges from named public sources, not live fares — always check current prices directly with an airline and a hotel before booking travel dates around a treatment plan. And the tool models a single round trip: if your procedure is one that typically needs staged visits, most commonly implant placement followed by the crown several months later, run the calculator for each trip separately and add the results, rather than trusting a single-trip figure for a two-trip procedure.
Currency conversions throughout use the fixed rates described above rather than the live rate on any given day, deliberately, so that this page stays consistent with the rest of the funnel. Your card issuer or bank will apply whatever rate is current when you actually pay, which will not exactly match the rate used here.
Get a real quote
Nothing above replaces a written quote from a dentist who has actually looked at your teeth. Once you have a rough sense from the calculator of whether a Vietnam trip is likely to be worthwhile for your case, the sensible next step is a consultation with Picasso Dental to get treatment options and a firm, written price specific to you — our guide to how to book a consultation with Picasso Dental walks through exactly how that process works, from initial contact through to a confirmed treatment plan. Do that before you commit to flights or hotel dates; a written plan is worth far more than any calculator's estimate.

This article is general information for people researching dental care abroad and is not medical, dental or financial advice. The calculator's figures are estimates built from Picasso Dental's own published pricing and sourced third-party averages, ranges and midpoints as described in the methodology above, not quotes for any individual patient. Currency conversions use fixed rates and are approximate; exchange rates, dental prices, airfares and hotel rates all fluctuate and this page is not updated in real time. Always confirm current prices directly with a clinic, in writing, and current fares and rates with an airline, hotel and your bank, before booking travel or treatment.
Frequently asked questions
What does the dental tourism savings calculator actually calculate?
It compares two totals for the procedure and country you select: what that treatment typically costs at home, versus Picasso Dental's published Vietnam price for the same procedure plus a return flight and a hotel budget for the nights you enter. The result is an estimated all-in saving range, not a single number, because both the flight cost and the hotel cost are shown as ranges rather than one fixed figure. It is a planning tool to size up whether a trip is likely worth it, not a booking engine or a quote.
Where do the numbers in the calculator come from?
Two sources, and no others. Vietnam treatment prices are Picasso Dental's own published, per-unit VND pricing. Home-country prices, flight fares and Ho Chi Minh City hotel rates are drawn from named public sources — dental association fee guides, multi-clinic price surveys, major providers' published pricing, and airline or flight-search data — compiled and cited in full on the Vietnam Dental Price Index 2026, which underpins every figure in this calculator. Nothing in the tool is a guess or an industry rule of thumb.
Which Picasso Dental price tier does the calculator use for each procedure?
The entry tier, where Picasso publishes more than one. That means the Osstem implant system for a single implant (25,000,000 VND) and for All-on-4 (125,000,000 VND per arch), Emax Press for porcelain veneers (9,000,000 VND per tooth), and laser whitening for one jaw rather than a full-mouth Zoom! session (3,500,000 VND). Zirconia crowns, molar root canals and complete hard-plastic dentures each have a single published price, so no tier choice was needed there. Choosing the entry tier keeps the Vietnam side of the comparison to a genuinely bookable starting price rather than an average across premium options; the full price range for every procedure and tier is on the Vietnam Dental Price Index 2026 page.
Are the home-country prices, flight fares and hotel rates guaranteed?
No. They are averages, typical ranges or median figures from named public sources, current as of 20 July 2026, not personal quotes. Dental prices vary by clinic, city and your specific case; flight fares change with season, airline and how far ahead you book; hotel rates move with demand. Where a source gave a range, the calculator uses a midpoint, and the methodology section on this page states exactly which figure and which midpoint was used for every procedure and country, so you can check the working rather than take it on trust.
How accurate are the currency conversions in the calculator?
They use five fixed conversion rates, the same ones used consistently across this site's Vietnam dental-tourism pages, cross-checked against live market rates on 20 July 2026 when they were set. They will not match the exact rate your bank or card issuer applies on the day you travel or pay, so treat every converted figure as an approximate planning guide rather than the number you will actually be charged. Exchange rates move daily; these fixed rates deliberately do not, so that every page in this funnel stays internally consistent with every other.
Does the calculator account for needing two trips for implant work?
No — it models a single round trip. Implant placement typically needs three to six months to integrate with the bone before the final crown can go on, which means many implant and All-on-4 patients plan two separate journeys rather than one long stay. If that applies to you, run the calculator twice with a shorter, cheaper second-trip flight and fewer nights, and add the two results together, rather than trusting the single-trip figure at face value for implant procedures.
