The WTT Contender circuit’s African stop crowned two champions in May: Denmark’s Anders Lind took the men’s singles and Japan’s Satsuki Odo the women’s singles at WTT Contender Lagos 2026 (19–24 May).
The doubles produced a notable Indian thread: Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah won the men’s doubles, and Manush Shah added the mixed doubles with Diya Chitale. Reina Aso and Joo Cheon-hui took the women’s doubles.
A global circuit
Lagos underlined how far the Contender series now reaches — a genuinely international field, with European, Japanese, Korean and Indian players sharing the podiums across five events in a single week.
