Methodology and conversion rates, in full
Vietnamese dong is always shown as the primary figure, with the converted amount in parentheses, following the format "25,000,000 VND (roughly US$980 / A$1,490 / £710 / C$1,340 / NZ$1,650)". The five fixed divisors used throughout this page, and reused consistently across the rest of this site's Vietnam dental-tourism content, are:
- US dollars: VND ÷ 25,500
- Australian dollars: VND ÷ 16,800
- British pounds: VND ÷ 35,200
- Canadian dollars: VND ÷ 18,650
- New Zealand dollars: VND ÷ 15,140
These rates were checked against live market mid-rates on 20 July 2026 and are close to, but not identical to, the day's spot rate for every currency — the US and UK rates track closely (within a few percent), while the Australian-dollar rate makes Vietnamese prices look somewhat cheaper in AUD terms than a live conversion would. They are used anyway, consistently, so that every price on this page, and on the related country and calculator pages elsewhere in this funnel, agrees with every other. Exchange rates move daily; whatever you are quoted in VND on the day you pay will convert at whatever rate your bank or card provider applies then, not the rates fixed here. Treat every dollar, pound and euro figure on this page as an approximate guide for planning, never as the number you will actually be charged.
A second, separate caveat applies to sourcing quality rather than currency: not every country publishes dental pricing to the same standard. Where a professional fee guide or large multi-clinic survey existed and could be accessed — Ontario's dental association fee guide, Australia's national ADA Fees Survey (via secondary republication), and the UK's TreatCompare survey — that is what this index uses.
