Sun Yingsha walked into the record books at Galaxy Arena, becoming the first woman to win three consecutive ITTF World Cup singles titles with a 4–1 win over compatriot Wang Manyu in the Macao 2026 final: 11–9, 11–8, 13–11, 8–11, 11–7.
The third game — a 13–11 hold against a charging Wang Manyu — was the hinge. Having banked it, Sun absorbed one game back and then closed the match out, retaining the crown she had also won in 2024 and 2025.
Joining Fan Zhendong
The three-peat puts Sun alongside Fan Zhendong as the only players in the sport’s history to win three straight World Cup singles titles; Fan managed the men’s feat from 2018. For Sun, the world No. 1, it caps a period of near-total dominance in the women’s game.
