Player Instructions
- When you arrive at the venue, please check in with the tournament front desk. You will be 1) asked to read these instructions, 2) asked to input your phone number to the tournament and 3) will receive a tournament ball. You can keep the ball and do not need to return it. To save time, you can read these instructions ahead of time and input your phone number here. Note that you do not need to give us your number if you have already received a text message within the past week that looks like this:
- The venue will open at 8:15 am.
- Every player must have access to text messages. If you are dropping your kid off, please input the phone number of a coach or trusted adult who will be present at the tournament.
- We will not be handing out clipboards and balls like at other tournaments. Instead, whenever you have a match, you will receive a text message indicating your table number and opponent like the one below (note the text will come from an unknown number):
- Once you receive a text, go to the table and start your match. You do not need to contact the tournament director unless something is wrong (e.g. your opponent won't show up). Just start your match using the ball we gave you earlier.
- When you are finished with your match, click on the link on the text message. It will take you to a webpage to submit your results like the one shown below:
- Input your results and hit submit button at the bottom of the page. If all goes well, your results have been saved and you will be redirected to the draw. Again, you do not need to inform the tournament director once your match has finished.
- You can save results in between games by clicking the "save" button at the bottom of the page. Remember to hit "submit" once the match finishes.
- For security reasons, you may only submit your results once by clicking the submit button on the webpage. If you made an error and need to submit again, then contact any tournament staff and we will unlock the page for you again.
- Only one player needs to submit results. Please submit as soon as your match ends so we can free up the table for the next match.
- Remember to take your ball after your match finishes. If you lose or break your ball, we will not provide replacement balls. Additional balls will be available for purchase both from the tournament and from OCTTA.
- It is important to remember that your table changes every match. Always check your text messages to see where your next match is.
- Once a table is available, we immediately assign it to the next match in line. You can view your position in line here. You can also reach this page by clicking on "Match Queue" on the menu at the top of the page. The match queue will show an ETA (may not be too accurate as this is our first time doing it) and whether your opponent is currently playing on another table. The match queue should look something like this:
- The match queue will also show a list of who is currently playing at what table and for how long each match has been going on. You can use it to watch your next opponent and get a rough idea of when your next match will start. The list should look something like this:
- If you have been eliminated but have played fewer than three matches (due to an opponent defaulting or you finished third in a group of three), please see the front desk. We will do our best to schedule you an additional match for fun (that still counts for rating).
- Your match will only show up on the queue once the event has started.
- To help the tournament run more quickly, if you see that someone you know should be playing, please inform them.
- If any problems come up, please talk to any of the tournament staff. Have fun!

*Special Offer: Players within 100 points of the rating limit (e.g. players rated over 2350 in the Under 2450 event) may opt to skip the round robins and qualify directly for the round of 16 in exchange for a $10 discount. You can redeem this offer by signing up for the events with "Special Offer" in the title on Omnipong. This offer is available on a first-come-first-serve basis to anyone who is over the rating threshold at any point in time.
^Surcharge: Since lower players tend to extract more value from playing high rated events, there will be a $10 surcharge for players rated under 2050, 1850, and 1650 playing in the Open Singles, Under 2450, and Under 2250 events, respectively.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Balls). To make things less hectic at the control desk, players are expected to provide their own balls for all of the matches. To ensure that there are enough balls for the tournament to run smoothly, every player will receive one Premium Nittaku ball at the beginning of the tournament. Additional balls will be for sale at the tournament for either $4 a ball or $10 for three balls. Please be a good citizen and try to use your ball for roughly half of your matches (and your opponent's ball for the other half). If your opponent has cracked his or her ball earlier in the tournament, please volunteer to use your ball.
Registration Fee. Every player will receive one three star Nittaku Ball at the beginning of the tournament in order to support our BYOB system. To offset this cost, we will charge a $3 registration fee. The tournament does not turn a profit from this fee. Players can keep the ball after the tournament ends.
Withdrawals. All withdrawals up until the day before the tournament will be accepted minus a $10 processing fee.
Prizes. All prizes will be distributed digitally via Paypal or Chase Zelle the day after the tournament. Please contact us if you have not received your prize by Monday.
